WOW ! I just heard this album in its entirety. A MUST add to your collection! Full review to come soon…

“Adam Hood’s ‘Different Groove’ is a compelling mix of tightly crafted songs, country-tinged roadhouse rock, and big, ringing guitars.”

– Andy Ellis, noted guitar journalist “Hood has a knack for creating music that hits the deepest part of one’s soul.” – Texas Troubadours magazineHighly-acclaimed singer/songwriter ADAM HOOD is releasing his debut Little Dog Records album, “DIFFERENT GROOVE,” on May 8. Working with Grammy Award-winning producer/guitarist Pete Anderson (Dwight Yoakam, Roy Orbison, k.d.lang, Sara Evans, Jackson Browne, Flaco Jimenez, Meat Puppets), Adam has recorded an album with great soul and depth — here’s an artist who sounds like a cross between Delbert McClinton and Al Green.

Hood has already garnered critical reviews and built a strong following by touring nearly 300 days a year. In the past year, he has been featured as a regular opening act for the legendary Leon Russell as well as such artists as Pat Green, Todd Snider, Dave Alvin, Ian Moore, Cory Morrow, and Shelby Lynne , among others. Hood is continually in the Top 50 on the MySpace independent Acoustic, Country and Folk Charts, with nearly 1,000 plays each day on his MySpace page. He is also featured (along with a track from “DIFFERENT GROOVE”) in a current television commercial for Texas/Red Dirt Music -inspired clothing line Southern Thread.

On “DIFFERENT GROOVE,” Adam pushes musical boundaries with a compelling work that crosses a variety of roots music genres — rock, blues, country, and even Zydeco – and features lyrics that sound too insightful for someone his age.
