Shooter Jennings to make Opry debut

Nashville, Tenn. – Sept. 20, 2007 – In anticipation of his third studio album (THE WOLF), Shooter Jennings will make his Grand Ole Opry debut on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2007.

“One of the songs off my new album talks about the criticism I’ve always faced that my music is ‘not country enough, too rock ‘n roll,’ so the invitation to play the Opry is a really significant milestone in my career,” notes Jennings.  “I grew up in Nashville most of my life, but playing the Opry stage is really the true sign of acceptance there.”

Jennings will release his fourth album titled THE WOLF on Oct. 23.  Producer Dave Cobb once again partnered with Jennings in the studio, and this time, the two allowed themselves to live out their “musical fantasies,” which include guest background vocals courtesy of some of the Grand Ole Opry backup singers.

THE WOLF is an album about “independence and learning to accept yourself for who you are,” Jennings says.   For all its varied moods and musical atmospheres, the album holds together on the strength of Jennings’ belief that real music cuts through all boundaries and communicates heart to heart.

Jennings will head back out on the road this week with stops in Columbia, MO, Lawrence, KS and Springfield, MO.  For other upcoming appearances and tour dates, visit or
