Royal Wade Kimes Receives Finalist Nomination

Royal Wade Kimes was nominated by the Western Writers of America for his song ‘Apache Kid’ which tells the true story of the renegade kid.

The award show was held in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma June 20th at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum where Royal Wade also performed for the event.

Western Writers of America was founded in 1953 and is the most prestigious organization in western literary subject matter from fiction to non-fiction in America.

Novelists associated with this organization are people like Louis L’Amour, Elmer Kelton, John Nesbitt, Bob Boze Bell, Johnny Boggs and many others. Boggs is the reining President of the WWA and was on hand to congratulate Royal Wade Kimes for his efforts with ‘Apache Kid’. Kimes has not only written his own material but has also penned songs for artists such as Garth Brooks, Diamond Rio and others.
